I love finding new books and A Dog Day by Emily Rand is a real find! This was her first book for children and it is a simple picture book in black and white about a day in the life of a dog owner and his friendly terrier. Emily is the author and illustrator. The story is told from the point of view of the dog who can’t understand why they pass so close to park but ‘waste’ so much time on other pursuits. The illustrations tend to show mainly legs not whole humans as this is the dog’s view of the world. As a reader you relate to this frustrated dog who just wants to get to the park and play. A great new book to share with primary students.
